Chapter Officers

Meet Our 2016 Mid-South Chapter Officers:

Steve Canerossi, Lt. Col., U.S. Army (Retired), APMP: Steve is the Chapter Chair for the APMP Mid-South Chapter.  Steve’s key responsibilities include: 

  • Leading the Chapter to bring value to its members
  • Achieving the Chapter’s goals
  • Representing the Chapter to the international APMP organization
  • Ensuring Chapter compliance to State, Federal, and APMP rules and regulations

Steve Canerossi is a retired US Army officer and former IBM employee with more than 35 years of military and commercial experience. He is certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS, and is a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Steve struck out on his own as an independent proposal consultant in 2010 and has built a successful practice providing a wide range of proposal services to large and small businesses engaged in the Federal marketplace.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in History for the University of South Alabama.

Jack Bailey: Jack is the Chapter Vice-Chair for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Jack’s key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the board and oversee activities in the absence or support of the Chapter Chair
  • Act as the primary point of contact for job information
  • Coordinate annual officer elections and associated tasks

Open: Treasurer for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise all fiscal operations and serve as the primary point of contact to the APMP Executive Director on all chapter fiscal matters
  • Establish and maintain a chapter checking account
  • Develop and maintain transaction logs
  • Verify bank statements, prepare financial reports, and other financial related tasks

Bill Allen, APMP: Bill is the Secretary for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Bill’s key responsibilities include:

  • Write and disseminate meeting minutes of all general membership meetings, including a list of all meeting attendees and provide attendee information to other officers as needed
  • Write and disseminate meeting minutes of all board meetings to the chapter officers for review and approval
  • Provide approved minutes from general membership meetings to the chapter Webmaster for posting on the chapter website

Bill is a capture and proposal manager and operations research analyst with 7 years experience in business development, operations management, and program implementation complimented by 20 years experience as an Air Defense Artillery and Operations Research Officer.  His work specializes in Operations Research, proposal management and development, air and missile defense operations, test engineering, foreign military sales, government liaison, data analysis, operations management, and strategic planning.

Education

Bill received his BBA in Business from the University of Southern Mississippi and his MSE in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

 Open: Membership Chair for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the effort to recruit and retain chapter members
  • Resolve any membership issues that arise, including the status of memberships or the accuracy of contact information provided in the monthly APMP membership report
  • Contact new chapter members to welcome them to the chapter, based on the monthly APMP chapter membership report

Andrea Canerossi-Conyers, APMP, ITIL: Andrea is the Planning Chair for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Andrea’s key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct planning and logistics for general membership meetingsAndrea Canerossi
  • Ensure communication of events to chapter members
  • Support interactions with other APMP chapters, including co-sponsored events

Andrea is an Organizational Change Management consultant and certified ITIL practitioner who specializes in process implementations and improvements, training, and program management. With a decade of experience under her belt, Andrea helps her clients implement ITIL and CMMI best practices and supports proposals for her current company.

Education

Andrea holds Bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural and Applied Economics with a specialization in small business management and Animal and Poultry Sciences with a specialization in large animal management from Virginia Tech.

Vanessa Elrod: Vanessa is the Webmaster for the APMP Mid-South Chapter. Vanessa’s key responsibilities include:

  • Create, design, implement, and maintain the APMP Mid-South Chapter page as well as the external website
  • Post materials received within seven days
  • Monitor and report on web traffic

Vanessa is a Proposal Specialist with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. She has more than 15 years experience in a wide array of marketing responsibilities including proposal management and development, website development, brand management, sales support and corporate communications.

Education

Vanessa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Journalism and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Business & Economics from Auburn University.

Benny Wink, APMP: Benny is responsible for Marketing in the Birmingham region. Benny’s key responsibilities include:

  • Distribution of Chapter internal and external communications, including:

    • Press releases
    • Chapter newsletters
  • Works with the Membership Chair to develop and distribute Chapter marketing/membership recruitment messages and materials

Benny is results driven manager with proven success performing, guiding and implementing actionable analysis that identify opportunities for growth while maximizing return on investment. He is a determined leader with more than 8 years of management experience and has a passion for building and developing effective teams.

Education

Benny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Jacksonville State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix (Atlanta Campus).

Ashley Marbach, APMP: Ashley is responsible for Marketing in the New Orleans region. Ashley’s key responsibilities include:    Ashley Marbach - APMP

Ashley Marbach is a proposal and capture team leader for Schneider Electric, a global energy management company. She began her career in the energy engineering field, and shortly thereafter found herself working in business development, proposal management, and capture planning. Her proposal team specializes in energy efficiency projects for the federal government, city and state governments, hospitals, schools, and universities.

Education

Ashley holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State.

Saundra Bailey, APMP: Saundra is responsible for Marketing in the Huntsville region. Saundra’s key responsibilities include:

Saundra has over 25 years’ experience in the DoD market, with a focus in the Army market space. She has more than 16 years’ experience working federal government proposals on bids ranging from small task orders to large efforts over $400 million. Saundra holds an APMP Foundation Level Certification and is a Certified Competitive Intelligence Professional (CIP) Level I. She is trained in the Shipley methodology of capture and proposal production. Her Shipley professional development courses include: Writing Winning Proposals, Capture Planning for Strategic Wins, Managing Winning Proposals, Price to Win and Winning in the Cost Volume. Her specialties include: Competitor/Competitive Intelligence; Proposal Management Support; Color Team Facilitation; pWin Validation; RFP Analysis; and Bid Compliance.
